Day One: Stop Trickin’ White Folks by Golden

“Music by dj paypal, voices from The Vinyl Project and David Johnson. This is just a mash up, I own nothing, so please DON’T PAY! Just love it and put it together as a FREE uplift for our communities.

Combahee Radio is named in honor of womanist ancestor Harriet Tubman. On June 2, 1863 Harriet Tubman led 150 black Union soldiers in the Combahee River Raid, destroying several influential South Carolina estates owned by leading secessionists, including the plantations of the Heywards, the Middletons, and the Lowndes families, and freeing hundreds. Many of the Union soldiers who took part in the raid were former slaves who saw the burning and pillaging of these estates as an opportunity to enact revenge on the master class

Combahee Radio also honors the Combahee River Collective, a Black feminist lesbian organization active in Boston from 1974 to 1980 that was instrumental in highlighting that the white feminist movement was not addressing their particular needs. They are perhaps best known for developing the Combahee River Collective Statement, a key document in the history of contemporary Black feminism and the development of the concepts of identity as used among political organizers and social theorists.

We’ve only just begun!”
