“Peeling back traditional masculinity, I wanted to present portraits of queer individuals, in the most honest way they wished to be presented. As a queer Xicano, i’ve grown use to many queer related art platforms are not created with me in mind. For the majority of the times, queer developments often focus on white, masculine, cis, male subjects, forcing many QPOC to seek solace elsewhere online (which is very limited). For this photo series, I wanted to present a statement of pride, an assertion of beauty, and a declaration of power amongst many QPOC.”
