Brittney Sankofa is a 24 year old multi-disciplinary artist from Washington DC. She mixes video, poetry, photography, and graphic design into compositions heavily inspired by her black and brown villages along the east coast as well as her family’s history and divine spirit. Her works have been featured in literary journal kinfolks: quarterly, Bennington College’s literary anthology plain china, and the new PBS photoblog Parallex. Currently, she is in pre-production for a short silent film. In her spare time, Brittney enjoys being broke, going on adventures, writing raps in her phone, and wrestling with inner demons. You can find her on tumblr and instagram.
